Greater Odenville Chamber of Commerce Hosts Veterans Day Celebration with Special Guest Speaker Bob Powell
The Greater Odenville Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted its November Chamber Meeting on Monday, November 10th at Christ Church Branch Cove, gathering local business professionals, community leaders, and honored guests for a special Veterans Day celebration.
This meaningful luncheon centered around recognizing and appreciating the service and sacrifice of our nation’s Veterans. The Chamber was privileged to welcome Robert (Bob) Powell, U.S. Army & Vietnam War Veteran, as the featured guest speaker.
Honoring Military Service Through the Words of a Veteran
Bob Powell delivered a powerful and heartfelt presentation centered on his experiences serving in the United States Army, including his time deployed in Vietnam with the 1st Aviation Division. Sharing vivid memories of wartime conditions, brotherhood among soldiers, and the challenges faced by Veterans returning home, Bob offered attendees a rare and personal glimpse into the realities of military service during one of America’s most defining conflicts.
He also reflected on his broader military journey—lessons learned, the pride of serving his country, and the enduring impact his time in uniform has had on his life and leadership. His message of courage, sacrifice, and gratitude deeply resonated with the audience as the Chamber paused to honor all who have served.
Powell, who now serves as Managing Director of the Mustang Museum of America and as a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, continues to exemplify service through his work in the community.
A Delicious Thanksgiving Lunch
Guests enjoyed a warm and festive Thanksgiving meal catered by Butts To Go Moody, featuring traditional holiday favorites that added a special seasonal touch to the event. The Chamber extends its appreciation to Butts To Go Moody for providing such a delicious meal for this important gathering.
Odenville Car Show Check Presentations
Another highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of proceeds from the 2025 Odenville Car Show, an event that continues to make a tremendous impact in the community.
This year’s Car Show raised $35,000, bringing the cumulative total raised since the event’s inception to $190,000. During the meeting, the Chamber proudly presented:
- $21,000 to Saints Youth Athletics
- $10,500 to the Odenville Police Department
- $3,500 to the Greater Odenville Chamber Scholarship Fund, which will be awarded to deserving students this spring
These contributions highlight the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to supporting youth development, public safety, and educational opportunity in the Odenville area.
A Meaningful Afternoon of Community & Celebration
The November meeting offered an uplifting atmosphere of fellowship, gratitude, and community connection. The Chamber extends heartfelt thanks to all attendees, supporters, and partners who helped make this celebration of Veterans Day both memorable and impactful.
