The Odenville Area Business Association held a lunch meeting this week to transition from a business association to a chamber of commerce and the Greater Odenville Chamber of Commerce officially launched. Trese Mashburn, Odenville Area Business Association Director, opened the meeting and introduced the Executive Committee who had worked to make this new organization a reality. This committee included Bruce Mardis – President (Seasons of Adventure Travel), Trese Mashburn – 1st Vice-President (94.1 The River), Joanie Mardis – 2nd Vice-President (Seasons of Adventure Travel), Paul Perry – Secretary (Paul Perry Alfa Insurance), Anthony Baumann – Treasurer (Revocation Radio) and Dona Bonnett – Board Member (adr Business & Marketing Strategies).

This group met weekly for the last two months to work through the articles of incorporation, by-laws, non-profit paperwork, organizational structure, mission statement and tagline which was all presented at the lunch meeting. Bruce, the new President, led the remainder of the meeting. Trese was recognized for all of her hard work over the past several years in leading the business association and was presented with an award.

The Greater Odenville Chamber of Commerce (GOCC) plans to meet monthly for lunch at 11:30 a.m. on the first Monday of each month at the Odenville Presbyterian Church. If a holiday falls on the first Monday, the meeting will move to the following Monday at the same time and location.

GOCC launched a brand new website which may be accessed at www.odenvillechamber.com and www.greaterodenvillechamber.com which outlines member benefits, member perks, area demographics, community calendar, helpful links as well as a member directory to encourage the greater Odenville area to shop local and do business with each other.
This new chamber is all about creating community and supporting local business which is evident in their new tagline, “Creating Community | Supporting Your Business” and their mission statement, “The Greater Odenville Chamber of Commerce is an organization dedicated to the purposes of promoting, improving, and advancing the commercial, industrial, civic, and residential interests of Odenville, including its nearby and surrounding trade areas.”
The new leadership structure will include five officers making up the Executive Board and eight board members completing the Board of Directors. Nominations are currently being accepted for board members to complete the leadership team. Nominations may be made directly through the new website or email odenvillebiz@gmail.com.
Greater Odenville Chamber of Commerce Has Launched
Currently, there are two chamber membership options with introductory memberships – Basic Annual Membership and Basic Annual Sponsorship. The basic membership offers many benefits with a very modest investment of $100 for any size business, $75 for a non-profit organization and $50 for an individual. The Basic Annual Sponsorship of $300 includes your annual chamber membership as well as recognition on website, e-blasts and verbal recognition at luncheons. Anyone who purchases a 2018 membership or sponsorship now during this introductory period will receive the rest of 2017 free. Other sponsorship opportunities will become available in the future. Full membership and sponsorship information and benefits are on the website as well as the membership application is available for download.
