About Our Speaker:
Coach Tyler Robinson came to St. Clair County HS after coaching 9 seasons at the collegiate level. He has had stints at both the Division I and the Division III levels. He began his career as the Tight Ends Coach at Maryville College in 2014. During his first season, his tight end would receive First Team All-Conference honors. He found his way back home to Alabama when he became the Wide Receiver Graduate Assistant Coach at Jacksonville State University for his former high school Head Coach John Grass. During his three-year stint, Coach Robinson worked with multiple All-Conference and All-American wide receivers, while also being a part of three back-to-back-to back Ohio Valley Conference Championships, as well as being a part of the 2015 National Runner-Up team. In 2018, Robinson was named the Wide Receivers Coach at Birmingham-Southern. In his single season there, he coached the Newcomer of the Year in the SAA Conference. He also had three receivers finish in the top 10 for receiving yards in the conference, and one SAA All-Conference Honorable Mention. In 2019, Coach Robinson had landed in Montgomery, AL back at his college alma mater, Huntingdon College. In his first three years back at Huntingdon College, he served as the Quarterbacks Coach. During his time as the quarterbacks coach, he was able to coach two different quarterbacks to be USA South First Team All-Conference selections, and one of them was also named USA South Offensive Player of the Year in the conference. That player was current SCCHS Quarterback Coach, Landon Cotney. In 2022, Coach Robinson transitioned back outside to be the Outside Wide Receivers Coach. During his last season, he was able to coach one of his receivers to be named a First Team USA South All-Conference selection. In his first season as the head coach at St. Clair County High School, Robinson led the saints to a 3-7 record. The three wins tied the amount of wins the team had accumulated in the previous 5 seasons combined.
Coach Robinson is a native of Oxford, AL. He grew up playing every sport that he could possibly participate in, and after his Senior year he earned the opportunity to continue his football career at Huntingdon College There, Robinson played all four years of his career, and before his senior season, Robinson was chosen by his teammates to be a Permanent Team Captain. Robinson finished his career ranked in the top five in many receiving categories for Huntingdon’s football history. He also held, and still holds multiple records as a punt returner.
Coach Robinson is married to his beautiful wife Shelby, and they have two beautiful little girls, Hendon Kate and Tinley.
